Class of 2024 News
It’s hard to believe the first term is completed. The class was very busy with their online studies, refreshing and consolidating their knowledge and skills in cardiorespiratory, neuromusculoskeletal and neuro fundamental physiotherapy practice. At the end of each study module, they attended onsite labs at the university for a week each of clinical practice.
These labs help to further develop their clinical reasoning and hone practical skills. Thank you to the many clinicians from different university-affiliated clinical sites who volunteered as experts in their fields. The class learned first-hand how skills are performed in Canadian-based hospitals and private clinics. They had numerous opportunities to practice guided by these clinicians who generously added their input and gave valuable feedback. It was a very enriching experience for everyone!
After the holidays, the class is looking forward to attending their first clinical internship in January. This is a great opportunity to integrate theory into Canadian physiotherapy practice and gain workplace experience. Under the supervision of registered physiotherapists at hospitals and clinics around the Greater Toronto Area, learners will collaborate with healthcare team members to further develop competence in communication, documentation and consolidate fundamental physiotherapy assessment, analysis and treatment skills. Internships are also a great way for the class to start networking and to develop their professional portfolio too! Stay tuned for more updates in the new year.
