Class of 2025 Wrapped Up Term 1

It’s hard to believe that Term 1 has already come to an end! The class has been fully immersed in their online studies, focusing on refreshing and strengthening their knowledge and skills in cardiorespiratory, neuromusculoskeletal, and neuro physiotherapy practice. At the conclusion of these study modules, they participated in week-long onsite labs at the university, dedicated to hands-on clinical practice.

These labs provided invaluable opportunities to refine clinical reasoning and enhance practical skills. A special thanks to the many clinicians from university-affiliated clinical sites who generously volunteered their time and expertise. The learners benefited greatly from observing and practicing skills as they are applied in Canadian acute and rehabilitation hospitals and private clinics. Guided by these dedicated clinicians, the class received constructive feedback and insightful input, making the experience deeply enriching for everyone.

After the holiday break, the class is excited to begin their first six-week clinical internship in January. This marks a valuable opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to Canadian physiotherapy practice while gaining hands-on workplace experience. Under the guidance of registered physiotherapists at hospitals and clinics across the Greater Toronto Area, learners will work alongside healthcare teams to enhance their skills in communication, documentation, and fundamental physiotherapy assessment, analysis, and treatment. Internships also offer a fantastic chance to start building professional networks and developing their career portfolios.

Stay tuned for more updates in the new year!
